Piecemobile: Notion's on Art

Kim recently had a quilt accepted into Red Bulls Art of Can Exhibition

The Piecemobile will roll as #72 in Houston's Art Parade on May 10th

Ritter has been chosen to be one of 12 artists in SAQA’s 4th Art Gallery in a Box. Art Gallery in a Box III was auctioned for $10,000 during SAQA’s “Bridging the Gap”


Kim has been also been invited to be part an exhibition entitled "Figuratively Speaking" at The Visions Art Quilt Gallery, sponsored by Quilt San Diego/Quilt Visions. This is a new and exciting exhibition space devoted to the presentation of the quilt as an art form. The Gallery is preparing an exhibit of art quilts dealing with the human (or quasi-human) figure, featuring the work of several artists. Dates for this exhibit are August 1 – September 28, 2008. Kim will have 3-5 pieces on display.


Kim Ritter and Judy Dales have been invited by Coos Art Museum to curate an exhibition "New Focus" for the Atrium.


Kim Ritter was named "Featured Artist" on a special project with the Texas Childrens Cancer Center and the Periwinkle Foundation. Kim created a Spirit Horse quilt for "Making a Mark" their annual art exhibition of children impacted by cancer. Children at the center will be collaborated on the quilt by creating stamped and stenciled fabric for the quilt. Proceeds will benefit the Periwinkle Foundations work with kids affected by cancer.Kim is donating one of her spirit horse images for Pin Oak Charity's annual t'shirt.


Kim's work will be featured in a new book "BEST OF AMERICA: Mixed Media Artists and Artisans Vol. 1".

Kim was also recently chosen one of 40 craft artists given the designation "A Texas Original Artist" by the Texas Commission on the Arts.

Ritter's work has been juried into two new traveling exhibitions "Creative Force" and "In Full Bloom" She has also has a piece accepted into the "Quilts: A World of Beauty". All three quilts will hang at International Quilt Festival in Houston this fall. The artist currently has a piece traveling with Quilt National 05.

Kim is serving as curator of "SAQA:The Creative Force 2007".
