Techniques
I inherited from my father, who was an IBM exec and amatuer photographer, a love of gadgets with shiny buttons. My two favorite and newest gadgets are my Gammill long arm sewing machine and my Epson 7800, a wide format printer capable of printing in fabric and paper.
My computer printed series "Handy Woman" , Garden Plots and "Go-Go Girls" all start with my own line drawing. Some are collaged with my photos of everyday objects; others are colored with Prismacolor markers or pencils and scanned into the computer. Some have been further manipulated on the computer. The inkjet printed fabrics are pieced together and machine quilted. I created the printed backing fabric with dye and paint, silk screens and stamps.
